From my Grandfather's toolbox, this is a set of (2) Beautiful Antique Open-End Wrenches made by J.H. Williams & Co. in the early 20th Century. (J.H. Williams & Co. was a predecessor of today's Snap-On Tools.)
The smaller wrench is stamped "27" on the jaw. It is marked 3/8" and 5/16".
The stamped logo is an older version with the company name and "BROOKLYN U.S.A." inside an oval, surrounding the "Diamond W" mark. Production in Buffalo, NY began in 1914. This particular logo was used prior to 1919, when the company HQ moved to Buffalo. To my knowledge, the city was not marked on earlier logos, just the "Diamond W." This wrench is thus likely from 1914-1919, possibly as late as early 1924, when the logo changed again (see below).
The larger wrench is stamped "29" on the handle. The logo stamped on it is the "ribbon" version, first used in 1924.
The sizes are marked "7/16USS" and "3/8USS". The "USS" nomenclature was not used after 1927. This wrench is from 1924-1927.
Both are in Good to Excellent vintage condition. Some stains from grease/oil. There is a bit of wear, but it is extremely slight on both pieces. There are (3) small round marks (made with a small punch tool) to either side and below the logo on the smaller wrench.
Though they are an old-fashioned style, these are quite finely crafted tools, lightweight and easy to handle. These pieces display magnificent craftsmanship, and both are prizes for the collector!
