If your 4 EAT transmission slips or does not shift properly or the oil is burnt and smells burnt then likely transmission is failing. Hardly worth having dealer fix it as the cost often will run $4-5K not including R & R from car.
Best to find used transmission and either swap it out yourself of pay a dealer
doing transmission switch out is easy if you can lift engine/gear out as a unit and reinstall in reverse manner.
Transmission not easy to pick-up. Bring PU truck and a way to pick it up.
