One of several professional clarinets we are offering for sale. This is a Buffet Crampon R13 Bb clarinet in silver plate. S/n 199XXX makes it 1979--right at the end of Buffet's best period ever. It is in excellent condition: wood body has no chips, cracks or repairs and squared tenons with no wobble between joints. Silver plated rather than nickel (currently a $671 upgrade!) about 99.5% with little if any wear at all, and a nice, dark, even patina. While we usually overhaul all our clarinets, the pads on this one are all in very good condition and sealing well, so we decided to keep the price down several hundred dollars and just run it through our shop for a basic bore oiling, adjustment and play testing. Plays very nicely in all registers--a bit darker than some of our other R13's with little resistance and a great core. Key oil and cork grease are for local pickup only and will not be shipped, but it does include a swab and the vintage Buffet one-up, three-down mouthpiece on a Riffault blank in a C facing. All in the Buffet pochette case with zippered cover. Sells new for a ridiculous $4,871 at M&A, so save more than $3,000, and snatch up this one from one of the most sought-after periods ever!
