2004 Sea Ray 240 Select bowrider. The boat is in excellent condition for its age and has always been kept indoors and it shows. I have owned it for the last 14 years and have always stored it in my climate controlled garage when not in use. The one previous owner rack stored it at a local marina. The boats’ total length is 25’6” and beam is 8’6”. This is a rare boat because it is one of the few sport boat models that Sea Ray ever offered with 4 engine options and 3 seating layout options. This boat has the best interior seating plan (in my opinion) which is two bucket seats with flip up bolsters and a sunpad over the engine compartment with a step-thru transom. The step-thru area has a removable seat cushion and there is also a bench seat staggered forward of the engine compartment. This boat also has the best of the 4 engine options (in my opinion) which is the 320hp 6.2L Mercruiser Multiport Injection with the dual prop Bravo 3 Outdrive. The counter rotating prop setup gives it a lot of torque to get on plane and makes it very maneuverable (noticeably more than a single prop) at slow speeds around the dock. This Sea Ray feels like a large, comfortable, luxurious water SUV that can easily seat 2 families or a medium sized party crowd and the V8 gives a pleasant, quiet rumble.
The interior is in nearly perfect condition for being 20 years old, remember it is a garage queen. The upholstery has no cuts, rips, or stitching seam flaws. I replaced the snap in carpet in 2020 with OEM carpet and of course it can simply be removed if you prefer fiberglass floors or if you get caught in a storm and it needs to dry out. It has a 2 piece snap-on gray canvas mooring cover made out of sunbrella material with 3 support poles. There is a matching gray bimini top that can be folded back or laid down when not in use. There is a new Dometic potty in the enclosed head forward of the passengers console. The boat has a lot of storage and a lot of cupholders. There is storage under all of the bow seats, under the rear bench seat, storage on the starboard side of the engine compartment, a large ski locker beneath the deck, and a dedicated bow anchor locker. There is a round fiberglass cocktail table that mounts in the floor in front of the rear bench and the 2 captains chairs spin around so 4+ people can have snacks and drinks in the shade on a sunny day. The table stores in a dedicated slot inside the helm console. There is a head compartment under the passengers console with a removable Dometic porta potty that I replaced only 3 years ago.
I installed a really good sounding modern stereo system. The head unit is a Fusion MS-RA70 with bluetooth. I selected this unit because it supports multiple wireless stereo remotes that operate on 3 volt wristwatch batteries. I have 1 remote mounted on the dash and a second remote stuck to the transom within reaching distance of swimmers. There is a Sony 4 channel amp that runs quad Clairon 6.5” speakers and a pair of clarion tweeters in the interior. There is also a monoblock Boss Audio amp which I installed in 2022 that powers two 10” subs located in the compartment beneath the helm. The boat came with a twin battery setup with Perko battery switch but I added a 3rd battery for increased power use for the stereo and it has all worked flawlessly. 2 of the 3 batteries were purchased new in 2025. I would now say that the 3rd battery wasn’t even needed, I probably over did it, because who wants to be out on the water without enough power to have fun?
The Eagle trailer is not a 2004 like the boat, it is a much newer 2015 trailer. I ordered the trailer new from Eagle because I wanted something I felt confident towing on the highway for trips to Norris, and Cumberland, and Torch Lake, and Lake of the Ozarks. The Eagle trailer company still had the plans to make a custom fit trailer for this hull so I ordered mine with a folding tongue, all LED lights, disc brakes, and five 14” Aluminum Sendel Series T07 Black Machined Wheels with 5 new Load Range D tires in 8/2025. It also has the pin stripes and the vinyl Sea Ray logo on the frame rails. I have replaced the brake pads once, and the carpeted bunks once, and the brake actuator and coupler once since it was new. It effortlessly made the 15 hour round trip to Lake of the Ozarks and many other weekend trips.
I have done all the routine maintenance and preventative maintenance timely so that it will always be reliable. The engine has been used about 44 hours per year on average which is about the right amount for Ohio’s seasonal boating to keep all systems working properly. I did all the proper routine winterizing maintenance myself annually every November which includes draining the engine block and adding antifreeze, changing the engine oil, and changing the lower unit gear oil. If there was a more complicated service issue that arose I took it to a qualified professional marine mechanic. The maintenance is easier on this boat than most because the engine compartment is more spacious then inside of most boats. The oil filter is on top of the engine, it has a single point cooling water drain plug, and I have installed a special valve on the oil drain hose to make oil extraction simple. I have a large folder with the owners manuals and the all maintenance records that will go to the next owner.
Boat is located in Cincinnati Ohio, well worth the drive to come see it in person. $34,000. Call/txt show contact info
