Douglas Axe Manufacturing Company broad axe. Very large size, one of the largest I've seen in this area. Short handle has a crack as shown. Made in Massachusetts pre-1900, high quality and has a very nice makers stamp. I believe this is a "New Orleans Pattern" broad axe and the bevel is offset ground to one side.
