I have, what I feel, is a super cool piece of authentic vintage gear I’m ready to send back into community. If you remember the Fender Vaporizer, think that, but twin channel. This is tube, not solid state. Each channel also has individual reverb and tremolo commands as well as bass/treble EQ’s. Each channel also offers two inputs which means you can jumper channels 1 and 2 like an old Fender if that’s your thing. It has a lush reverb (better than my Supro) and a deep tube tremolo. It accepts pedals beautifully. As far as I can tell, it is completely unmolested with what appear to be the 1x15 and 2x8” drivers, (two prong power cord which may be a good idea to upgrade and ground) and still rides on its original casters. In fact, I found the original schematic in an envelope tucked neatly within the cabinet.
Why am I letting it go? It’s big and I recently got a Supro Jupiter now so I’ll still have the vintage clean sound.
I’m looking to either pay myself back on a recent purchase or pick up something a bit more modern with a smaller footprint like a DSL40CR, but I doubt I’ll find someone looking to trade for that outright; just two different worlds/types of players. Firm on price if I sell, but willing to hear trade offers on Marshall amps, Squier classic vibe jaguars, bass VI, CV Mustang, Epi (or clone) firebirds, 4001 (clone/copy obviously) or 60’s MIJ/catalog guitars. All of equal value in price.
I won’t ship or deliver. Will meet at Newport IHOP which is right off 471 for sale but will split the travel distance in 25 mile radius for the right trade.
Synopsis from Reverb (which I find to be accurate):
The Sano 100-RT (often referred to as the 100R or 1000R) is a vintage tube or solid-state amplifier built in the 1960s and 1970s by the Sano Corporation. Originating in New Jersey from former Ampeg builder Stanley Michael, these rare, retro-voiced amplifiers are highly collectible and prized for their warm, vintage character.
