I built dog house for a German Shephard. Insulated with 3/4" extruded polystyrene, 3/4" plywood floor, walls and top. Side walls and top have airspace behind insulation. Outside...inches.. 33-1/2 tall, 27 wide, 49-1/2 long.... 28" tall, inside. The top comes off for cleaning and moving. Top is keyed into sides to stop air leaks. had sit on porch with blowing rain and snow with no problem. Used about 4 years. Had a blanket on top for dog to lie on and draped over door to hold heat, in winter. It has some scratches on floor, (recommend to put straw down before cedar chips (if used) to prevent scratching insulation). If, to be out from under roof, waterproof layer on roof would be needed.
