I believe this a 1961 Schwinn Corvette. It has a 3 speed rear wheel, with front and rear hand brakes. I restored this myself in 2008. The frame was glass beaded to bare metal and was repainted with DuPont 2 stage paint. The stainless steel fenders were straightened by hand, sanded, then polished to a high luster. I attached the fender braces with stainless steel rivets, which were special ordered. Most chrome parts were stripped and polished before they were chrome plated . The tubular rims were stripped, but not sanded or polished, fearing loss of the hash marks. As seen in the pictures, the rims still came out fantastic. Original spokes were replaced with stainless steel spokes. Tires are labeled Schwinn Westwind, and size is 26x 1 3/4. The tires on this bike are reproductions of the originals, which are getting very difficult to find. This bike rides very well. Anyone who knows old bikes, should be able to see the time and money put into this project. Call Bob, and leave a voice message.
