d. Handle merchandise properly to minimize and prevent damage and loss.

g. Identify in-line clearance opportunities for reduced shrinkage.

3. Support all aspects of the Store routine process.
a. Utilize the Data Integrity Monitor report to ensure compliance to department processes.
b. Ensure department updates Negative On Hands weekly.
c. Ensure department performs QOHV within 5-day routine.
d. Maintain the daily recovery standard to an â€œAâ€ level emphasizing the importance of detail recovery and its impact on perpetual on hand accuracy.
e. Ensure department performs detailed downstocking to drive in-stock condition.
f. Educate staff members on the proper use of capshelves, including acceptable items, organization, and labeling.

4. Consistently operate the department at an A or B level. Ensure support staff comply with the department standards and effective execution of the Best Practices.
a. Actively manage the entire store as MOD.
b. Consistently utilize the worklist process to assign and track workload on a daily basis.
c. Participate in weekly management staff meetings.
d. Ensure proper daily recovery, downstocking, and QOHV/NOH procedures are consistently followed.
e. Work merchandise out from backstock/topstock as low and out of stock items are identified.
f. Maintain presentation and housekeeping standards throughout the day.
g. Set and maintain planograms, displays, sales planner signing, ads and other merchandise programs.
h. Ensure staff members are fully educated on Best Practices.

5. Develop strong, stable, knowledgeable, and promotable support staff to drive sales, maintain department condition and serve the customer.
a. Review and understand all company communications and completes company training programs related to all positions within the store.
b. Train associates in assigned department.

6. Miscellaneous
a. Perform other duties as assigned including, but not limited to, cashiering, store safety, total store recovery and housekeeping, unloading trucks and customer carryouts.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
â€¢ High school education or equivalent required with 2 years experience in retail merchandise operations from prior positions with Michaels or another retail organization.
â€¢ Must be able to effectively and efficiently assist with managing assigned area or when Manager on Duty.
